SANTEE

SANTEE 92071 Santee was purchased through a Spanish land grant in the early 1800s. Rapid growth during the 1940's and 1950's was due to an abundant water supply that attracted development and spawned many residential communities Today, tree-lined streets and numerous housing options from single-family homes to condominiums to two-story townhouses, characterize Santee. Family living is the trend for this valley city framed by Cowles Mountain to the southwest and Sycamore Canyon Park Reserve to the northeast. Local attractions include the Carlton Oaks Country Club for golfers and the Santee Lakes Regional Park for fishing, hiking, camping, and biking.

Santee's annual exposition features a two-day business and community fair and a seasonal Steve Scott Mile Race for professional runners.
