Solana Beach is an upscale, incorporated city between Rancho Santa Fe and the ocean. The schools are among the best in the state. There is nothing in the way of a downtown, but the area near the new train station features a row of antique shops and the venerable Belly Up Tavern. The town is split by Interstate 5.
Older homes are on the West Side, newer homes are on the East Side. Many homes near the freeway were built in late 60's. A new train station could aid development near Lomas Santa Fe and Highway 101. Most homes priced at $300,000 and up.
