Valley Center is about as remote as you can get and still hope for a daily commute to the city. Agriculture is preeminent, with oranges, avocados, and large dairy farms nearby. Locals swear by the great schools, wholesome country charm, and very low density. The community is at the end of a scenic drive from Escondido.
There are many horse properties and houses with orchards as front yards. Many have excellent views. A day trip to see Bates Nut Farm and Bell Gardens is worth the drive.
