ALPINE

ALPINE 91901 Nestled in the valleys beyond the shore is the inland community of Alpine, known as the Viejas Stop in the 1800's. The community's most prominent landmark is a rock formation standing 4220 feet above sea level northeast of town. Alpine has a reputation for rustic, rural living. Winding roads, rolling hills and special vistas might best describe this budding community.

New developments of spacious homes in the southeast have been added to the community of cabins, mobile homes, and chalets. Street names throughout the community note the town's special attributes, such as Sky Mountain, Rock Terrace, Holly Road, Acacia Lane, or Olive View Road. Other features of this rural wonderland are the groves of eucalyptus, pepper, sycamore, oak, and olive trees. Many residents maintain small gardens of fresh fruits and vegetables and most businesses are family-owned. Historical structures like the Alpine Library inside The Old Town Hall are part of the rural charm of Alpine.
